Gamification in Curriculum Design

Dimitris Kouniakis: I have been actively involved in TEFL and curriculum design for 25 years and have seen the evolution of the market in real time. The #NoHomework project has been a key concept of my TEFL trajectory that has always placed emphasis on skillset and functionality over certification. I continue to innovate in the TEFL space that has now become a fast-moving arena that challenges all of us. I blog frequently about my ideas and experimentation and lead some online discussions. In my non-TEFL life I am a core member of the TEDx Patras team.

It is a hands-on workshop designed for foreign language professionals in Greece - teachers at public and foreign language schools, private lessons teachers, directors of studies, school owners.

The uses a modular, interactive approach to introduce practical elements of gamification. The attendees get to employ the 4Cs of education in a mock curriculum that employs gamification to raise the fun quotient of learning. There is a fully interactive, iterative approach to both gamification and curriculum design with group work and role playing that highlights justification of choices made at root education level by curriculum designers.
