ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΣΕΜΙΝΑΡΙΟΥ

The default position in most classes in the 21stcentury is variety and individual differences. The problem has been compounded by the many digital distractions students face. This session takes into account the need to cope with thediversityby developing techniques for differentiated learning while at the same time maintaining disciplinein the class as a whole. In this workshop, we shall understand the underlying and surface causes of ‘bad behaviour’ or inattention; we shall go on to practise techniques for engaging the attention of the class, especially disruptive students, and getting students to listen to each other and to interact with other students. You will take away practical procedures for effective classroom management, meeting individual student needs in whole-class, group and pairwork, drawing directly and indirectly in the students mother-tongue, and, above all techniques for building rapport and self-esteem in mixed level groups
